I Am a UX Designer

I am Jaffar Kazi a UX designer based in Sydney, Australia, with lots of experience as a developer and a consultant. I've worked on solutions across the world; UK, US, UAE and Australia. I started with UX when UX and UCD was not a common term in software development. I work hard to change people's perspectives to a user's requirements and their problems because the user accepts and uses your system. I am a full stack problem solver.

My expertise is in UX Research, UX Strategy, wireframing and prototyping. But my main focus is and always will be the user and his problems.

My UX Process

UX Research

Deep understanding of the problems and realities of the people you are designing for. It involves learning about the difficulties people face, as well as uncovering their latent needs and desires in order to explain their behaviours. Empathic research reveals the deeper needs and root causes, which, if addressed correctly, may profoundly change the project we're investigating.

Strategy

A great definition of your problem statement will guide you and your team’s work and kick start the ideation process in the right direction. It will bring about clarity and focus to the design space. The How Might We questions open up to Ideation sessions where you explore ideas, which can help you solve your design challenge in an innovative way.

Ideate

It is the stage you combine the understanding you have of the problem space and people you are designing for with your imagination to generate solution concepts with key stakeholders. Particularly early in a design project, ideation is about pushing for a widest possible range of ideas from which you can select, not simply finding a single, best solution.

Prototyping

Prototyping quickly, and frequently, is the best way to test your assumptions, learn about users, and improve on your ideas. A ‘thinking by doing’ mindset is extremely helpful in letting you derive more value from researching, defining, ideating, and testing. Prototyping helps create a bias towards action and opportunities for creative serendipity — the innovative spark you need to create truly useful and revolutionary solutions.

User Testing

Bring your ideas onto a tangible plane, which will enable you and your team to see and discuss the pros and cons, to learn from users’ feedback, and to create little opportunities with big impacts. Users are prompted to share ideas of how the prototype can be changed or improved so as to address some concerns or issues. This is an avenue to collect negative feedback and constructive criticism in order to improve.

MVP Development

Help accelerate the teams’ learning regarding what the customer actually wants/needs whilst using rapid iteration to deliver that. Minimize the number of wasted hours spent by the development team by focusing on a minimal number of features for launch. You can go to market faster and thus, theoretically, start to raise sales revenues faster than if you develop the fully featured final product for launch.
